Dacquino Sets Book Tour for Patriot Hero of the Hudson Valley

• 2019 Edition of On MY MIND book launch to include Dacquino Keynote speech.

Vin Dacquino has agreed to be the KEYNOTE Speaker for the highly acclaimed, ON MY MIND book launch of collected works by high school students. The Book Launch will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Kennedy/Catholic High School in Somers, NY. A book-signing of Vin’s new book, Patriot Hero of the Hudson Valley, will be conducted during the pizza party with proceeds of the book’s sales donated to the OMM project.

• Dacquino to be Featured Artist for Hudson Valley Writers Open Mic Night on Friday

Vin Dacquino, author of the newly released, Patriot Hero of the Hudson Valley: The Life and Ride of Sybil Ludington, will be the featured writer at the group’s Friday Night open mic night at 7:30 pm. The theme for the evening is “Legends Come to Life—the Living, the Dead, and the Purely Fictional.” Dacquino will present the facts and fiction of Sybil’s life from her ride in 1777 to her death at 77. The group meets at 300 Riverside Drive, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591 at the Philipse Manor Station

June 14, 2019

Vin Dacquino has been chosen to be honored with the The Local History Publication Award at the 2019 Putnam County Day Ceremony. Awards on this day are given in recognition of exemplary work and dedication to recording and preserving the history of Putnam County. Through his continued dedication to primary source research and recent publication of PATRIOT HERO OF THE HUDSON VALLEY: The Life and Ride of Sybil Ludington, the Historian’s Office has chosen to honor him. The award will be given on the County’s 207th birthday on June 14, 2019 at 10 am at the Historic Courthouse, 44 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, NY.

Vin Dacquino will make a ghostly appearance at the Patterson Library, 1167 Route 311 PO Box 418, Patterson, New York on October 17 at 7 pm. Dacquino will discuss his paranormal experiences with the audience and recount the incidents that led up to his book, Hauntings of the Hudson River Valley: An Investigative Journey, published by History Press. Dacquino also published the recently released investigative journey into the life of Sybil Ludington, Hero Patriot of the Hudson Valley: The Life and Ride of Sybil Ludington, also published by History Press. The public is welcomed to attend.

Museum in Hyde Park, New York for our annual Hudson Valley History
Reading Festival on April 18, 2020. We host this program in partnership
with the Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District. Join us
for our 1:00 p.m. book talk that day about Patriot Hero of the Hudson Valley: The Life and Ride of Sybil Ludington.

Hudson Valley History Reading Festival
Location: Henry A. Wallace Center
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The FDR Presidential Library will present the eighth annual Hudson
Valley History Reading Festival on Saturday, April 18, 2020. In four
sessions, beginning at 10:00 a.m., authors of recently published works
on Hudson Valley history will present author talks followed by book
signings. Copies of all of the authors’ books will be available for sale
in the New Deal Store located in the Wallace Visitor Center.

There will be four sessions at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and
2:00 p.m. — a book talk on every hour (with a lunch break at Noon).
Each session includes a 30-40 minute talk, time for Q & A, and 15
minutes for signing. Then it starts all over again with the next author
talk. For each author (and a guest) we will provide a 9:00 a.m.
continental breakfast and lunch at Noon.
