Vin Dacquino has agreed to be the KEYNOTE Speaker for the highly acclaimed, ON MY MIND book launch of collected works by high school students. The Book Launch will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Kennedy/Catholic High School in Somers, NY. A book-signing of Vin’s new book, Patriot Hero of the Hudson Valley, will be conducted during the pizza party with proceeds of the book’s sales donated to the OMM project.

Vin Dacquino, author of the newly released, Patriot Hero of the Hudson Valley: The Life and Ride of Sybil Ludington, will be the featured writer at the group’s Friday Night open mic night at 7:30 pm. The theme for the evening is “Legends Come to Life—the Living, the Dead, and the Purely Fictional.” Dacquino will present the facts and fiction of Sybil’s life from her ride in 1777 to her death at 77. Vin Dacquino has been chosen to be honored with the The Local History Publication Award at the 2019 Putnam County Day Ceremony. Awards on this day are given in recognition of exemplary work and dedication to recording and preserving the history of Putnam County. Through his continued dedication to primary source research and recent publication of PATRIOT HERO OF THE HUDSON VALLEY: The Life and Ride of Sybil Ludington, the Historian’s Office has chosen to honor him. Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The FDR Presidential Library will present the eighth annual Hudson
Valley History Reading Festival on Saturday, April 18, 2020. In four
sessions, beginning at 10:00 a.m., authors of recently published works
on Hudson Valley history will present author talks followed by book
signings. Copies of all of the authors’ books will be available for sale
in the New Deal Store located in the Wallace Visitor Center.
There will be four sessions at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and
2:00 p.m. — a book talk on every hour (with a lunch break at Noon).
Each session includes a 30-40 minute talk, time for Q & A, and 15
minutes for signing. Then it starts all over again with the next author
talk. For each author (and a guest) we will provide a 9:00 a.m.
continental breakfast and lunch at Noon.
