Dacquino Back at Western Connecticut State University


Vin Dacquino will be returning as guest speaker for Dr. George Robinson on Tuesday 22 November for an online session with aspiring elementary teachers, 337 WRT “Teaching Writing in the Elementary and Middle Grades.”. The class starts at 5:30 and goes for approx. 2 ½ hours.

This section of the curriculum focuses on 5th and 6th graders. Dacquino will address students for approximately one hour and discuss such topics as: how to get students to write;  effective mini lessons; different techniques used to get students to write creatively ; and what not to do as a writing teacher. He will also take questions on his own writing journey: where he gets his ideas; his routine for putting words on paper; his frustrations as a professional writer and the joys of being a professional writer  

Dacquino to lecture at The Alice Desmond Center on April 5.

Vin Dacquino will be returning to the Center after his successful lecture Oct 18 on “Hauntings of the Hudson River Valley.” On April 5, 2023 from 10:30 to noon, Dacquino will discuss the life and legacy of Sybil Ludington based on his 2019, “Patriot Hero of the Hudson Valley.” The center is located at 6 Albany Post Road, Newburgh, NY
